Monwabisi Grootboom, also known as Mo, grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He was raised with an innovative mindset. His parents were both amusing and welcoming to family and friends. Education

In school, Mo and Phindi were both referred to as scholars. Mo graduated from high school and earned a degree in Public Relations from the University of Port Elizabeth in 1998, while Phindi graduated with honors.

Career

Mo and Phindi excelled in other fields before becoming relationship experts. Mo previously worked as the Manager of Arts and Culture for the City of Durban (eThekwini Municipality) for nine years before resigning in 2012. He also founded live stand-up comedy series such as Zulu Comedy and Xhosa Comedy, and served as Executive Producer for both.

He is also the Chairperson of KwaZulu-Natal United Music Industry, a music industry development agency of the KZN Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

Phindi spent 14 years as the head of regional sales for four radio stations: East Coast Radio, Vuma103 FM, POWER 987, and Capricorn FM. She also worked as a Sub-Saharan Africa sales manager for a UK-based broadcasting company.

They became concerned about the couple's daily struggles after their marriage. Their decision to become relationship coaches was influenced by friends and family members who found their advice to be extremely beneficial.

After its release, Mo and Phindi's book, 'Love Isn't For Cowards,' became a best-seller. 

Their expertise in Relationship and Marriage Coaching dates back more than 8 years. 'For Better or Worse with Mo and Phindi' airs on Mzansi Magic.

The show is designed to educate married couples and others in relationships through marital counseling and relationship advice. They also run a non-profit organization called 'Mo and Phindi Academy,' which aims to restore hope to troubled marriages and relationships. The couple recently started producing content for their TV channel, Mo and Phindi TV.
