Jalango aka Jalas has a different story from how everyone ascended to their riches. The current MP for Langata was just a simple village boy who lost all hopes and became a fishmonger, how life turned for the better for him. Also called Heavy J Papa comes from Gem Siaya county although he grew up in Homa Bay county. He narrates life was not easy and due to lack of school fees he forfeited his chance at Maseno High school to go to a local school. Upon completion, he scored C+ (plus) in KSCE which was not enoough for a direct entry to university at the time, that is when life became harder and harder.
He joined local activities like fishing to fend for their family. However, luck was on his side as he travelled to Nairobi to start his acting and comedy career. He was exceptional; worked really hard with committment.

Jalango then moved to radio. He says he persistently beleived and did not look back while applying even though he did not have necessary papers. He repeatedly lied he had them though. This was Kiss 100 and worked alongside Caroline Mutoko. He moved to Radio Maisha in 2012, then to Hot 96 and he transitioned to Radio Milele where he worked with Alex Mwakideo his friend before ending his radio presentation career at Kiss 100 again where he co-hosted with Kamene Goro
Jalango has publicly declared his interests in politics. He resigned from Radio Kiss 100 to run for Langata parliamentary seat.
As good tidings were on his side, he has managed to grab the Langata MP seat beating his competitor Nixon Korir. Jalango is currently the member of parliament for langata.
