Deux Vultures is a Kenyan musical group that performs hip hop and pop music.
Colonel Mustapha (actual name Daudi Mustapha) and Nasty Thomas make up the group (Thomas Konzanga). They were raised in Dar es Salaam. They began their career at jam sessions at Nairobi's Florida 2000 nightclub. Originally known as "Desert Vultures," the group had as many as 20 members before being reduced to two and renamed Deux Vultures. In Kenya, their debut track "Mona Lisa" became a huge national smash. They left Ogopa DJs record company in 2003, along with Longombas, Mr. Googz, and Vinnie Banton, and founded their own label before returning to Ogopa. Katika, their debut album, was released in 2004.
Deux Vultures collaborated on the tune Adhiambo C with benga singer Dola Kabarry. Female artist and label-mate Wahu released a reaction to the song, with "Kibow Wow", employing the same tune and beat as "Kinyaunyau".
At the 2004 Kisima Music Awards, they were named best group from Tanzania and Uganda. They claimed that they won in the wrong category because they are a Kenyan group who were raised in Tanzania. They were nominated for a Kisima Music Award in 2008. Deux Vultures were scheduled to play the United States, but their promoters in the country were unable to obtain visas for the band because Kenyan bands Kleptomaniax and Longombas overstayed their visas during a previous tour.
