Duncan Mighty, known by his full name Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu, is a Nigerian vocalist, proficient sound engineer, and music producer. He is also the founder of JamBase Cable Tv station in Port Harcourt. Additionally, Wene owns a construction company with a workforce of over three hundred and seventy employees. He is recognized for his musical style encompassing Reggae, African R&B, and hip hop.
Born on October 28, 1983, in Obio Akpor, Rivers State, Duncan Mighty is the only child of Mr and Mrs Okechukwu. He received his primary and secondary education at the Federal Government College Port Harcourt before pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt. Despite his musical career, he remains active in his engineering business. Duncan Mighty is presently married to Vivien Mighty, and the couple is blessed with three children.
Duncan Mighty's Assets
He possesses a two-story mansion located in Port Harcourt and a collection of luxury cars that adorn his garage. Among these vehicles are a Porsche Cayman, a Mercedes Benz E-Class Convertible, a Rolls Royce Phantom, and a Ford Explorer.
Early in his career, Duncan Mighty was involved in music as an instrumentalist, playing the drums in church and serving as a choir director and vocal coach.
His passion for music led him to study audio engineering at Basel University in Switzerland. Upon returning to Nigeria after graduation, he served as a sound instructor during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment at Benson and Hedges, Lagos. He also worked as a sound engineer at Dolphin Studios in the Muson Centre, Lagos.
After completing his NYSC service, Duncan Mighty remained in Lagos to gain practical experience in recording and sound production techniques by working with sound production companies. In 2006, after six years of acquiring knowledge in Lagos, he relocated to Port Harcourt and worked as a sound engineer at D Large Records and 360 Records. He later partnered with celebrity jeweler Chris Aire to establish AireMighty Records in 2006.
The Beginning of His Music Journey
Duncan Mighty decided to release his debut album in 2008, following his father's passing in 2007. His first studio album, titled "Koliwater," was released that year and included tracks such as "Ijeoma," "Scatter My Dada," "Dance For Me," and "Ako Na Uche."
The success of his first album motivated him to work on his second album, "Ahamefuna (Legacy)," which he independently produced and released in the second quarter of 2010, without any featured artists.
In September 2012, he released the album "Footprints," collaborating with artists like Timaya, Shaggy, Otuu Sax, Sandaz Black, and Wande Coal. Subsequently, he launched another album titled "Grace and Talent" in 2014, featuring talents like Phyno, Young Stunna, Tick Lips, J Flex, among others, under his record label, Young Wealth Records.
Notably, Duncan Mighty often sings in his native Ikwerre language, which contributes to his distinct musical style.
