Education

Career

The award-winning journalist is well-known as the host of the show Carte Blanche. She was hired for the M-Net show in 2002 and worked for eighteen (18) years before leaving in 2020.

During her studies at the University of Natal, she began working as a professional radio journalist. She later began working as a freelance talk show host for Lotus FM. She previously worked as a music show host. 

While working as a freelance radio host, Devi accepted a teaching position and resigned after a year to become a full-time talk show host on Lotus FM. 

She interviewed Nelson Mandela, South Africa's former president, in 1998. 

She made her television debut in 1996 after becoming a freelance presenter for SABC1's Eastern Mosaic. Following her outstanding performance in the media industry, another opportunity presented itself.

She was hired as a weekly columnist for the Sunday Times in 1998. After a year, she was promoted to Features Editor at the Sunday Times in Durban. 

She joined the Carte Blanche team in 2002, making her the team's youngest investigative television journalist.

She founded her corporate communications firm after completing a postgraduate program. Carte Blanche Consumer, a Carte Blanche spin-off series, was also hosted by her. She left Carte Blanche after eighteen years.
