He then joined YFM, a radio station based in Johannesburg, in the year 2000. At YFM, he produced and hosted the weekend show "Beauty and the Beast" alongside Angela Ludek.

Utilizing his production skills, Dj Sbu was involved in various projects. He was responsible for the film "Hang Time" (2000). He also made appearances on the soap opera "Generations" in 2000, connecting him to other TV producers. Additionally, he featured in a Toyota Tazz advertisement and a World Online commercial in the same year.

In 2001, he appeared in the television series "Isidingo" and played a leading role in the drama series "It Rained Last Night." He also wrote a monthly column for YFM and participated as a DJ in the Vinyl Experience Meltdown Competition on Fridays. In 2005, he became the presenter of the show "Y-Lens" on YFM and subsequently moved to the national station Ukhozi FM. However, he returned to YFM after a brief period with Ukhozi FM.

Dj Sbu co-owned the now-defunct record label TS Records with Thembinkosi. The label was known for signing prominent artists in the music industry. Despite facing challenges, the label eventually closed down.

Dj Sbu continued his business endeavors by establishing MoFaya, an energy drink brand. The brand attracted investors, including Coca-Cola, who acquired a twenty-six percent stake in the production.
