Ben Kitili is one of Kenya's greatest news anchors. He has worked in various big media organizations and has survived getting fired, which is the new standard in most media organizations. The prime time news anchor is currently employed by Kenya Television Network, one of the country's oldest privately owned channels. The station once had A-list journalists such as Lilian Muli, Mashirima Kapombe, Janet Mbugua, Muhammed Ali, an investigative journalist turned politician, and Alex Chamwada.
Education
Ben Kitili earned his bachelor's degree at Daystar University, a school that has produced some of the country's top journalists. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Electronic Media).
Career
His path to becoming a top presenter was not simple, as he was turned down by numerous stations. When he went to Baraka FM, he was told that he would not be a radio presenter or any type of broadcaster at all. Despite this, he eventually obtained a job as a sports broadcaster and anchor at K24 in 2008. He progressed to the News Desk before leaving K24 for NTV in 2011.
His efforts at the Nation Media Group, where he co-hosted with Lizz Ntonjira, helped him rise to the position of top presenter in the media organization. He joined KTN in July 2013 and has been there ever since. Ben has done an excellent job covering breaking news and national events such as the 2013 general elections, the 2010 constitutional referendum, and the International Criminal Court (ICC) proceedings.
Marriage
Ben married Amina Mude in 2018, which sparked outrage because Amina is Muslim and he is not. His straightforward reaction to the backlash, on the other hand, was wonderful.
Salary
Ben earns around Ksh.700,000 each month.
KTN Resignation
Ben Kitili joined competitor channel NTV on July 27 after working for KTN news for eight years. He is appointed as News Editor.
