Shenseea's Biography in Summary

Chinsea Lee, also known as Shenseea, was born at Mandeville Hospital in Manchester. Chinsea was on the verge of becoming a star since she could walk and talk, therefore this was her breakthrough debut. Chinsea went to Kingston when she was approximately three years old, which eventually led her to prominence. While Chinsea aspires to be an international artist, she is first and foremost interested in mastering the industry. So she focused on her education and graduated from Mona High School before attending Exed Community College, where she majored in Entertainment Management.

Chinsea, however, was unable to complete her studies due to financial difficulties that are not prevalent in Kingston. Some people might take this as a setback and give up on their aspirations in order to survive financially. For Chinsea, it wasn’t that easy, as she had even more reason to keep going, her lovely baby Raj. As a single mother, Chinsea realized she had to keep going to offer him everything so he never wanted for nothing. During this period, she was introduced to Romeich Major, the Kingston-based entertainment and promotion behemoth.

"There is so much to learn, including strategy, marketing, and development. And I want to learn everything so that I may help myself and others who have supported me since the beginning." Romeich is one of these people; he immediately liked the young artist and saw her boundless potential, so he hired her as one of his hallmark promotion ladies. As an artist, this is when the name Shenseea took hold. From there, she was introduced to the world of hard work and determination, working on promotions during the day and recording at Romeich Entertainment's in-house studio during her free time.

However, the world of artiste development does not begin with signing the artiste contract. Shenseea's journey began years ago when she was inspired by MTV Jamz and MTV Hits. As a young Shenseea, she was charmed by the achievements of her favourite artists like Whitney Houston, Beenie Man, Buju Banton and Bounty Killer just to name a few. But it was at church that Shenseea took her first move toward realizing her dream. "I did an acapella of Whitney Houston's 'Greatest Love of All' and I was so shy that I ran out of the church [crying] immediately after I finished singing," Shenseea recalls.

People fell in love with her voice, so she continued signing in church, even joining the choir, expanding her repertoire as an artiste and performer. Shenseea only began to take her music career seriously after signing with Romeich Entertainment as its first recording artist. What began as a job advertising companies like Hennessey, Red Stripe, Smirnoff and Magnum at some of Jamaica’s most prestigious events quickly transformed into opportunities to begin her career, demonstrating her talent and garnering an eager fan base.

Shenseea may now be found at Romeich Entertainment on her days off, recording a new music every day. Shenseea recorded her debut single "Jiggle Jiggle" in early 2016, and it swept around the island like lightening. As if that wasn't enough for a new artist, she was contacted to collaborate with Vybz Kartel on a track called "Loodi". This one track spread like wildfire, adding to this young artist's already outstanding library of songs. Garnering notice from Teen Vybe Magazine, Shenseea was listed twice on their Top 10 Chart for both tracks; #2 – Shenseea ft. Vybz Kartel – Loodi and #4 – Shenseea – Jiggle Jiggle.

Being rated on Teen Vybe's "Top 10 Charts" alongside artists such as Vybz Kartel, Alkaline, Ding Dong, and Chris Martin demonstrates Shenseea's remarkable talent and will continue to do so for years to come.

While hurdles hindered Shenseea from finishing her school aspirations, they did present her with a fresh road to her dream of becoming the international artist she had always wanted to be. Shenseea is growing as an artist and businesswoman with Romeich by her side, helping her every step of the way and showing her how hard work pays off. Shenseea tells her followers, "I was very disappointed that I couldn't continue my studies, but I moved on."
The opportunity presented itself, and I seized it with no idea where it would lead me. Who knows how long it would have taken me or what I would have had to face and do to get where I am now. I'm still a work in progress with a lot to learn, but I just wanted to say that no matter what the obstacle to your goal is/are, don't be discouraged; instead, change your route to that goal rather than the goal itself, and once you trust God, you have to believe that everything happens for a reason in everything you do.
