Meet the blogger who broke Jeff's death news

Simon Mwangi Muthiora, the blogger who broke the story of Jeff Mwathi's death, posted a cryptic message on his Facebook page.

Mwathi, an interior decorator, died last month after allegedly falling off the 10th floor of Kikuyu artiste Lawrence Njuguna alias Fatxo's Redwood apartment on Thika Road.

Mwangi claimed threats to his life in a post on Sunday afternoon, saying he is done searching for the truth behind Jeff Mwathi's death.

Mwangi's claims come after DJ Fatxo revealed a new angle on Mwathi's final moments before death.

In a press release shared by Youtuber Nicholas Kioko, Fatxo explains that after a night out, he went to his house with three other women, but when he returned, Jeff Mwathi was gone.

He slept briefly and was still missing in the morning, prompting them to report the incident to the police station before he was reportedly found dead.

While denying that he did not mourn Jeff, the DJ claims that after learning of his death, he contacted Jeff's family and even had to relay some of the information through his mother.

His call for justice for the deceased reportedly drew the attention of Interior Minister Prof. Kindiki Kithure, who quickly directed the DCI to launch a new investigation.

He also drew the attention of Kenyans online with a call for justice for Jeff Mwathi, who was thought to have committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of an apartment building.

The police will also want to know how the two men reacted after learning of Mwathi's death, as well as any possible involvement.

"It is peculiar that the two left Mwathi in the house and went down together and it was when they were up, the deceased exited the house to end up dead in the compound.

"There is a way under normal circumstances buddies will behave, and this is a matter to be analysed with the help of experts and a study of retrieved footages," read a portion of a police report.

Detectives, on the other hand, are looking into why DJ Fatxo took Mwathi into an entertainment venue and then into his house late at night if the only reason for the duo meeting was to offer him an interior decor job.

Finally, the police want to determine Mwathi's mental state prior to his death.

During the investigation's launch, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) assured the public that no stone would be left unturned.
