Zari Hassan AKA the boss lady  is a socialite, musician and businesswoman who resides in South Africa where she runs businesses. She was born on 23 September 1980 in Jinja Uganda. She is of a mixed origin since her maternal grand father is Indian while her grandmother is Ugandan. Her partanal grandfather on the other hand is Somalian, while the grandmother comes from Burundi. Her father's name is Nasur Hassan and mother Halima Hassan. Her sibling include Zulela Hassan and Zara Hassan.  She attended a primary school in Jinja town and later joined Jinja girls' high school and later pursued a diploma course in cosmetology in united Kingdom. According to Zari, her ex-hubby for ten years and father to her three kids was obsessed with her, a trait that advanced to abusive levels.

For a period of over 12 years Zari was married to the late Ivan Semwanga, and together they are the parents of three sons, Pinto, Quincy and Didy. In 2013, she divorced Semwanga, whom she accused of physically abusing her.

In May 2017, Ivan Semwanga suffered a massive stroke, was admitted to Steve Biko Academic Hospital, slipped into a coma and died on 25 May 2017. He was buried in Uganda and following the funeral, Zari returned to South Africa to manage her businesses and some of her late husband’s enterprises.

Sometime 2014, Zari established a romantic relationship with Diamond Platnumz (Naseeb Abdul Juma), a Tanzanian recording artist, who is 9 years her junior. Zari alternated time between South Africa and Tanzania and so did her new boyfriend.

Speaking on Sanyu FM’s Hit Selector Show on Saturday, Zari told show host Crystal Newman that she has discussed with Diamond Platnumz his extra-marital affair with video vixen Hamisa Mobetto, and are working to mending their relationship.

She further explained that she was very disappointed to find out that her sweetheart cheated on her with what she termed as a low life.

Speaking on Millard Ayo, Zari revealed that she had not been granted power of attorney but had been left with some of Ivan’s businesses to run which included a college in South Africa and other property in Uganda.

“Obviously when it comes to the businesses, I will continue handling them since I’m the mum. About power of attorney no it hasn’t been put in place, but I will run the colleges in South Africa, he has two properties one in his name, one in both our names. I have my own property which I’m renting and will continue managing.” She said before adding “We will take it one day at a time to keep his legacy going.”
