Uhuru Kenyatta's Biography in Summary

Uhuru Kenyatta who is the current president of Kenya (term ending in a few months) is the fourth president of the Republic of Kenya. He comes from the former first family of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Ngina Kenyatta. He has served the country since 2013. He was the second born in a family of 4; he has two sisters, Christine (born 1953), Anna Nyokabi (born 1963), and a brother, Muhoho Kenyatta (born 1965).

Education Background of Uhuru Kenyatta

Uhuru went to St Mary's school Nairobi and completed in 1979 and progressed to Ahmrest University in USA where he studied economics and political science. 

Work Background

Uhuru Kenyatta started working at Kenya Commercial Bank briefly as a teller. He later left to concentrate on family business but was appointed as nominated member of parliarment in 2001 and immediately became a minister for local governement. In 2002 he unsuccessfully vied for the presidency supported by former and the late president Daniel Torotich Arap Moi. He lost to former president Mwai Kibaki. 

Uhuru Kenyatta has served the government in different capacities as member of parliarment for Gatundu North and other government ministries including Finance. There was a controversy with a budget he presented before the parliament in 2009 where for 22 billion, the mps voted for 31 billion.

He also served as a deputy prime minister between 2007 and 2013 after a coalition government was agreed on. 

During this period, he also faced charges of crimes against humanity in Hague but was cleared in 2015 for lack of evidence.

Betrayal to William Ruto

Its been one of the most kept secret on the reasons why president Uhuru Kenyatta fell out or betrayed his deputy William Ruto. However, he has promised to tell everything, despite vowing that he would serve for 10 years and Ruto for another 10. However, there have been reports that their fallout was bound to happen irrespective of anything. The main reason for the fallout probably is William Ruto failing to heed to his advice to stop early campaigns and concentrate on his duties which William Rutowould not listen to.

Instead of supporting his deputy as was expected, he went for his former archrival Raila Odinga to throw his wait for what is probably Raila's last stab at the presidency.
