Sphelele Mzimela is a South African actress who was born in Kwazulu-Natal. She is well-known to many television viewers for her portrayal of Mazaza in the popular television series Uzalo. She was reportedly fired from the show after becoming pregnant.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in television production. She received her certificate from the AFDA Academy (South Africa's School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance). She also earned a National Diploma from Durban University of Technology.
In 2015, she was cast as Kentucky in the television series Isibaya, and Sphelele Mzimela assisted her in breaking into the industry. She most recently played Mazaza on Uzalo, but she was replaced due to her pregnancy. She is currently taking a break from acting to care for her newborn children, but she plans to return strongly soon.
She rose to prominence after portraying Mazaza in Uzalo, a popular South African television series. Mpume Ngwenya took over as the actress's replacement after she became pregnant. She also played the role of Kentucky in Isibaya.
Sphelele Mzimela was born on September 29 in Empangeni, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.
Her grandmother raised her in the Enyoni township. Her parents are Thembelihle Nzuza and Zenzele Mzimela. Her mother, Zenzele Mzimela, is a well-known chartered accountant. Sphelele's younger sisters are Xabiso Mzimela and Snothile Mzimela.
She has had a lifelong passion for all things related to entertainment and knew she wanted to work in television from a young age. Leleti Khumalo played the lead role in the film Yesterday, and she was a big fan. This piqued her interest in acting and the entertainment industry, which she pursued.
Sphelele Mzimela has children despite the fact that she is not married at the moment. In 2020, she gave birth to twins.
Following the lockdown, she hosted a celebration for her new babies in Sundumbili, KwaZulu-Natal, with friends and other actors. She has yet to identify the father of the infants.
She admitted to Move Magazine that she had difficulty becoming pregnant and that she had refused to have a diagnostic because she couldn't handle bad news.
Emily surprised her mother by purchasing her first car in 2018 after three years of playing.
She is currently preparing to launch a non-governmental organization to support and equip young girls with life skills because she is passionate about them.
