Jimmy Kibaki is the first born son of Kenya's late President, Mwai Kibaki, and the owner of Odibets, a locally owned betting firm. He has hinted at entering the murky world of politics, but the true goal is missing. Jimmy has been the family's spokesman for quite some time. He spoke to the media about his father's health issues.
Education
He was a student at St Mary's School in Nairobi, also known as Saints. He went on to study political science and administration at Salve Regina University.
Wife and kids
Jimmy married Sherly Anne, a classmate from Saint. Mwai Kibaki Jr, Sean Andrew, and Emma Ngini are their three children.
Career
When Jimmy returned to Kenya in 1988 after finishing his studies in Canada, he was eager to establish a business and decided to ask his father for a loan. Kibaki listened to his son's business concept and reasons for needing a loan from him before retorting that he was "neither a director nor a stakeholder of any company....get the loan from a bank!"
Politics
Many people assumed Jimmy would want to follow in his father's political footsteps. He has never run for public office, but he was formerly extensively involved in his father's presidential bids.
Family
Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki and Lucy Muthoni Kibaki gave birth to the businessman. David Kibaki, June Kibaki, Tonny Kibaki, and Winnie Wangui Mwai are his four siblings. Winnie is said to be Mwai Kibaki's daughter from his previous marriage to Mary Wambui. Lucy Kibaki, the matron of their house, died in 2016. The former first lady died after a long illness.
