Jaro Soja's Biography in Summary

Many consider Jared Otieno, also known as Jaro Soja, to be Gor Mahia's biggest fan. He is so dedicated to the team that his house and motorcycle are both green and emblazoned with Gor Mahia's insignia. When he met Kenya's president, his love for the team transformed him from a fan to an employed citizen with a decent job. 

The President of the Republic of Kenya offered him a position on the Sports Stadia Management Board, which is now Sports Kenya.

In 2014, he was among the K’ogalo procession that met ex-president Uhuru Kenyatta and his life was never the same again. 

“Since meeting president Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on November 24- after Gor was crowned Kenya Premier League Champions- good fortune has been my portion. He provided me with numerous opportunities. "I believe God sent me to meet and interact with the President," he said. 

During the meeting, he sang Gor Mahia's anthem for the President and presented him with the club's No. 1 jersey.

The president directed that he be employed by Sports Kenya. He was later able to construct a two-bedroom stone house in Gem, Siaya county.

Jaro Soldier later declined the President's job offer, stating that it would distract him from supporting his team. He told the media that juggling Gor's cheers and office work would be impossible.

Jaro Soja Marriage 

On July 17, 2016, he married his longtime girlfriend Emma Owaga in a traditional ceremony. 

His wife was born in the Homa Bay county of Ndhiwa. Jaro first met her at Nyayo National Stadium in March 2014, when Gor Mahia was playing Esperance Sportive de Tunis from Tunisia. 

She had gone to get some yoghurt during halftime when she ran into Jaro on the stairs. He asked for her phone number, which she provided. He called her in the evening to ask her out. Emma worked as a customer service representative at Meridian Medical Center in Capital Center. Since then, the two have become inseparable and made their relationship official in 2017.
