Lu Rui En, known as Rui En, was born on January 29, 1981, and is recognized as a skilled actress, being part of the "seven princesses" of Mediacorp in 2006. Beyond her acting prowess, she's also a talented singer with multiple solo studio albums.
Entering the film industry in 2002, Rui En has taken on roles in various dramas and series. Her debut as a lead actress came in 2005 in the film "A Promise For Tomorrow," where she portrayed Fang Fang.
In 2002, Rui En's song "Connection" earned her a nomination in the Best Theme Song category at the Star Awards. Similarly, in 2004, she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Star Awards, although she didn't secure the award.

She was involved in a vehicular accident on April 13, 2016, where her car collided with a parked motorcycle near her home. She cooperated with the police investigation and later apologized to the motorcycle's owner, paying a $700 fine for the incident.
In January 2016, she was also involved in a hit-and-run accident with no injuries reported, and both parties reached a private settlement.
Upon completing her A Levels in 1999, Rui En entered modeling under the management of Phantom Agency. A SingTel advertisement in 2001 marked her breakthrough, leading to features in FHM Singapore. She joined Artistes Network, a Hype Records division. In Taiwan, she debuted in Jay Chou's music video and released her debut Chinese album, "Rui Σn vol. 01," in 2002.
She made her acting debut in the 2002 MediaCorp drama "No Problem" and secured her first leading role in 2005's "A Promise for Tomorrow." Named one of the "Seven Princesses" of Mediacorp, she garnered awards for her roles in series like "Unriddle 2."
She became L'Oréal Paris Youth Code's spokesperson in 2013, the first Singaporean to hold the role.
