Growing up with a father in the media industry had a significant impact on her career. Tony Msalame, her father, was a legendary actor and radio host who later founded his own radio station. This, and the fact that she used to love watching every show on TV.
She began her career in the media industry prior to attending university. She hosted the str8up show, which is extremely popular among young people. From 2005 to 2007, Grace hosted the show. She began hosting the show after completing her A level. She began doing odd jobs to avoid boredom until she was informed of the audition on KTN, which she gladly attended. The rest, as they say, is history.
She received a call from Standard Media Group while still a student at Daystar University, asking her to host an art show called Art Scene. She worked on the show for four years.
Grace Msalame Family
Msalame, her father, died in 2010 while she was pregnant with twins. This was a difficult time for her because she felt bad about being pregnant before marriage despite being raised with strong Christian values. She did, however, say that the pregnancy helped her to develop a much stronger relationship with God.
She gave birth to twins, Zawadi and Raha, who were fathered by Paul Ndichu, Janet Mbugua's husband's brother. They divorced, and Paul married someone else. They are on good terms, and she revealed that he has never been a bad father. When two people divorce and there are children involved, she believes they must mature.
