Francis Awino's Biography in Summary

Bunge la Mwananchi president Francis Awino has cautioned young women not to let their desire for a better life lead them into death traps.

Speaking with Nairobi News, Awino stated that the desire for a better life and quick money has led many young people, both men and women, into death traps.

"I would like to warn young women not to allow their desperation for a better life to lead them into death traps," Awino said in an interview with Nairobi News.

On the other hand, he observes that the current state of economic hardship, poverty, and unemployment makes young women vulnerable targets for criminals.

"The heinous murders of young women are a concerning trend that must be condemned by all Kenyans, and the authorities must act quickly to avert the situation." In our current economic climate of hardship, poverty, and unemployment, young women without a source of income are becoming increasingly vulnerable targets for criminals."

In the last two weeks, five young women have died in gruesome and horrifying circumstances.

In some cases, the deceased's bodies were cut into pieces.

There has been an increase in the number of women found brutally murdered in Nairobi's rental homes.

These include the shocking and heinous murder of popular socialite Starlet Wahu.

She was discovered just moments after CCTV footage captured her entering a residence with a man.

Police are holding John Matara in connection with the murder.

In another shocking incident, Rita Waeni, a student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), was discovered murdered in an apartment in Nairobi, a day after going out on a date.

Her body was also dismembered, and the head remains missing to this day.

According to the most recent homicide statistics from Femicide Count Kenya, 152 people were killed last year, the highest number in the previous five years.

The numbers could be higher because some cases are never reported. These shocking statistics should shame us all and galvanize us to take action.
