Brown Mauzo, a well-known Kenyan secular musician based in Nairobi, with more than ten singles to his credit. The songwriter primarily sings in Swahili and has created songs for industry heavyweights such as Esther Akoth, also known as Akothee. Mauzo had signed her to his label, but she quit as her brand gained in popularity.
His command of the Swahili language and demeanor caused many to believe he was from Tanzania. He grew up in Mombasa and is of the Kamba tribe.
He was an Ogopa DJs signee before launching his own label.
Career
He loved music from a young age and would frequently listen to famous musicians. Despite his interest in music, he did not become well-known among Kenyans until 2007. His music is inspired by his love, his life experiences, and current happenings in society.
Prior to 2007, he was a member of the music group Wawili Pekee. He afterwards struck out on his own and began releasing music singles. Subira was his debut single, while Natamani was his second. Over the years, he has also published numerous other songs, some of which have featured prominent Kenyan musicians.
Relationship
Brown Mauzo is engaged to Vera Sidika, a socialite and businesswoman. When the two declared their relationship, many assumed it was a publicity gimmick to promote his songs. They proved it wasn't a ruse when Vera Sidika recently announced she was expecting a Brown Mauzo child.
The artist wrote a romantic remark to the socialite in a 2020 post:
"You unexpectedly enter my life, and I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with the person you are, happy birthday, fiancé."

Controversy
Some of Mauzo’s hits have been shrouded in controversy.
The song Wote Wazuri, which features Timmy Tdat, has sparked a lot of debate. Timmy Tdat was accused of groping one of the video vixens inappropriately. Brown threatened to take down the video when the incident was cut from the final version. Timmy's team claimed Brown's team modified and distributed the video to scare him. Quinter Nimo, the vixen, also claimed she was not compensated for the task despite an agreement with Mauzo. Later, the artist expressed sorrow over collaborating with Timmy Tdat.
Neglecting his girlfriend and child
The musician is accused of having fathered a daughter with his ex-wife and then abandoning her. Mauzo had two other wives, according to a talk between tea master Edgar Obare and a friend's ex, making Vera Sidika wife number three.
