Ever since Ruto assumed the highest office in the country. He has made several trips across the world meeting with world leaders on different matters. Most notably is Saudi Arabia.
The government of Kenya's relationship with Saudi Arabia has been such a hot and controversial topic over the 1 year tenancy. Kenya and Saudi Arabia's relationships did not just begin with Ruto's governemnt.
A lot of Kenyans travel to the country to seek jobs, and most of them nanny or house boy related jobs. While a good number come back safe, there have been a lot of cries as some are subjected to inhuman abuses, tortured and even killed with their bosses. The kenyan government has tried reaching out to their counterparts in the middle east nation but it does not seem like a lot has changed as some cases are still reported.
When Ruto assumed office, his government negotiated a government to government deal, which was termed as G2G. Some like the opposition chief, Raila Odinga termed the deal as scandolous. That the cost of the living and prices of fuel in Kenya has risen due to the deal being purely negotiated.
Currently, the opposition is up claiming Ruto is busy traveling all over the world as a tourist and coming back with nothing. In the president's response:
''You have heard that I have travelled to many countries of the world, I have been travelling with a plan as I am not a tourist,'' Ruto said on Sunday on a sunday service in Kiambu.
He also added: ''For this country to develop, there must be a plan and leadership. That is why, even as we talk today, our CS for Labour is in Saudi Arabia because we want to plan on how our youth will get jobs everywhere.''
The President has made 48 trips outside the country, the most recent of which was a one-day trip to Djibouti on Saturday.
Ruto stated that his trips will benefit many Kenyans while also assisting the government in spurring development.
''In the last year, I've traveled to many countries and made so many friends at the IMF, World Bank, China, the United States, and elsewhere,'' he said.
At the same time, the President thanked God for favoring him by making him President during a difficult economic period in the country.
