Martha Karua's Caree Profile

Full name: Martha Wangui Karua

Date of birth: Karua was born in 22nd Sept 1957

Career: Lawyer, Senior Counsel, and Politician

Tribe: Kikuyu

She is a former long-standing member of parliament for Gichugu Constituency and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She was Minister for Justice until resigning from that position in April 2009. Usually referred to as an 'Iron Lady,' she is known stand strong on her opinion and position. She does not back down when she thinks something is wrong.

Recently Azimio Coalition and Kenya Kwanza formed a joint team to negotiation on way forward for the country. Some of the issues on the table to be discussed were: Rising cost of living in Kenya, tax burdens on Kenyans with the government raising taxes on a daily basis, parliament positions, party defecators' punishements, 2022 election injustices. The discussions have been on-going for over two months. And while, the major issues have not been addressed, the teams have agreen on extra positions like official position of the opposition.

Martha Karua does not like how things are going. Most recently she has been very vocal. She does not want positions but basic elements affecting majority of Kenyans handled like the cost of living and tax burdens. She has also announced a major communication in the upcoming weeks. We believe this will be her exit of the coalition led by Raila Odinga, former president Uhuru Kenyatta, and Kalonzo Musyoka.
