Ireland's defeat to Greece ended their chances of qualifying from the group stage, but they could still reach the play-offs if enough teams ahead of them have already secured their place in the Euros.

Stephen Kenny will continue to press his team to go for all three points as he deals with the fallout from his team's struggles in Group B, where they lost five of their seven games.

The Netherlands will defeat Ireland.

The Netherlands have not been at their best in qualifying, and they are edging their way to Euro 2024 rather than charging ahead.

Last time out, Koeman's men needed a late penalty from Van Dijk to defeat Greece, and they have only scored 10 goals in six games, three of which came in a 3-0 win over Gibraltar.

With two goals each, Cody Gakpo and Nathan Ake are the Oranje's leading scorers in qualifying, which hardly suggests that the Netherlands are ready to dismantle Ireland in Amsterdam.

Aside from their matches against France, the Netherlands have found a way to win. It may not always be visually appealing, but the talent exists to secure yet another victory at home.

Ireland can cause problems on their day, and with Evan Ferguson leading the line, there is hope for the future.

With his size and finishing ability, he is always a threat to opposing defenders, having scored three goals in eight appearances for Ireland, including one last time out against Gibraltar.

The game will most likely follow a similar format to the reverse fixture in Dublin. The Netherlands have the talent to win the game, but Ireland's young talent can cause a stir.

In our first Netherlands vs Ireland prediction, we believe both teams will score.

Gakpo to maintain Euros form

Gakpo has scored in his last two appearances for the Netherlands, scoring in a 2-1 win over Ireland in Dublin and a 2-0 win over Greece at home.

He was injured for the last two rounds of qualifying matches, but he is now fully recovered. To avoid the play-offs, the Netherlands need their forward to be at the top of his game.

Gakpo has an impressive international record, scoring eight goals in only 19 appearances. However, the 24-year-old has struggled for Liverpool this season, which is cause for concern ahead of a major tournament for the Oranje.

He has four goals in 14 games across all competitions, but only two in the Premier League.
