On Monday, Seychelles and Kenya will face off in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Both teams are coming off of losses in their first games. Kenya lost 2-1 to Gabon after surrendering a first-half lead, while the Seychelles were thrashed 9-0 by Ivory Coast.
The Pirates were completely annihilated by a rampant Elephants side in their biggest loss in history. This was also their sixth straight loss in all competitions.
As the Seychelles look to rebound from a historic defeat, head coach Vivian Bothe will consider making significant changes to his lineup.
Meanwhile, Kenya returned to the qualifiers for the first time since being disqualified from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign. Masoud Juma scored for the Harambee Stars after 40 minutes, but Gabon took control after the break.
Denis Bouanga equalized for the Panthers at the hour mark before Guelor Kanga scored with only two minutes of normal time remaining.
The Seychelles are bottom of Group F of the qualifiers after the first round of games, with a staggering goal difference of -9, while Kenya is right above them in fifth place.
Seychelles, ranked 195th in the FIFA World Rankings, is one of the world's weakest teams. That was clear after Ivory Coast thrashed the island nation earlier this week.
Kenya are not the most formidable team, but they have enough quality to defeat the Pirates here.
Prediction: Seychelles 0-2 Kenya
