Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly Yemi Alade is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress, and activist. She was born in Abia State, Nigeria on 13th March 1989.

Yemi Alade’s Music Life and Career.

Yemi Alade started her career journey in music in 2009 when she won Peak Talent Show, the got signed to Effyzzie Music group.

In 2014, she hit the airwaves like a storm after releasing her first studio album, ‘Kings of Queens,’ with songs like, ‘Tangerine,’ ‘Kissing’ and ‘Johnny,’ the hit song that gave her prominence in the music industry worldwide. After her musical tour in some of the African countries to promote the album, she then released a Deluxe version of the album, in which she did a French version of songs done originally in English.

Her second album ‘Mama Africa’ was released in 2016, it focused on the strengths and weaknesses of the African woman. The proceeds from the sales of the album were dedicated to feeding a Child Charity initiative.

The third album ‘Black Magic’ released in 2017, was a follow-up to her EP ‘Mama Afrique, supported previously released singles, ‘Single and Searching,’ ‘Heart Robber,’ ‘Knack Am’ and ‘Bum Bum’ among others.

In 2019, the ‘Woman of Steel’ album was released and it had hits such as, ‘Shekere,’ ‘Lai Lai,’ ‘Vibe,’ and ‘Shake’ among others. Yemi signed a multi-year licensing deal with Universal Music Africa and UMG France, which was her exclusive worldwide recording partner and her international rollout partner for all her releases under the label consecutively. She also featured on, ‘Don’t Jealous Me,’ a track on Beyonce’s soundtrack album ‘Lion King’: ‘The Gift.’

In 2020, she released her fifth studio album ‘Empress,’ inclusive of, ‘Dancina,’ ‘Boyz,’ ‘Deceive,’ among others. She starred in Beyonce’s ‘Black is King’ visual trailer. She has with some household artists in the industry like Sauti Sol, Angelique Kidjo, Estelle, Selebobo, Patoranking, Dabju, RudeBoy others.

Over the years, she has received awards, ambassadorial contracts, and partnerships with different brands both locally and internationally and she sure is not stopping at anything less than greatness.
