Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati is a Kenyan politician who was elected as the second governor of Bungoma County in 2017 after defeating Kenneth Lusaka. He was elected on behalf of the FORD Kenya party.
Wycliffe Wangamati grew up in Kandunyi, Bungoma County. He is the son of Patrick Wangamati, the former Mayor of Webuye and a FORD Kenya party nominated MP.
Wycliffe Wangamati Education
He began his schooling at Kadunyi Primary School. It is unknown where he received his secondary education and university education. He is, however, a qualified actuary with a degree in Actuarial Science.
Wycliffe Wangamati Career
Wangamati worked as an Executive Director at Alexander Forbes East Africa before becoming a politician. In 2017, he ran against Keneth Lusaka for the governorship. The contest was heated, and the two ended up in court on multiple occasions. Governor Wangamati narrowly won the elections.
Wycliffe Wangamati Marriage
He is married to Carol Wangamati, a kind and caring woman. Three children have been born to the couple.
Other information about him include the fact that he was a member of the Institutes and Faculty of Actuaries. He owns a large hotel and grocery in Bungoma County.
