Victoria Kimani’s Biography
Victoria Kimani is a Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress, and entertainer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California United States, on the 28th of July 1985.
Victoria Kimani’s Life, Music Career, and Works
Victoria started singing at a very tender age of 9, and by the time she was 16 while living with her clergy parents who were missionaries in Benin City, Nigeria, she was already performing, a backup singer alongside church choir members, and wrote songs for some of them as well.
Upon returning to live in Kenya, she went to college and continued to perform as a backup singer for Mercy Myra. Since these performances involved a lot of traveling, Victoria opted to drop out of college, and fully pursue her musical career.
She made her debut in 2010, by performing a remix of Chocolate City Music Label executive, Ice Prince's hit single, 'Oleku.' As a result, she caught the attention of the Nigerian Music Label executive, got signed as the first female artist, in late 2012. She took to the music scenes by releasing her first single, 'Mtoto,' in 2013, followed by various mixtapes; 'Oya,' 'Heaven,' 'Hate Me,' 'F.U.M.F,' 'Open Up Your Heart,' and 'Do What You Want.'
In 2014, she released her single, 'Show,' that was produced by, Nigeria's singer and producer, Tekno, and 'Prokoto,' featuring Tanzania's Diamond Platnumz and Ommy Dimpoz. In 2015, she released 'Vex,' alongside Cynthia Morgan and Emmy Nyra; 'Two of Dem,' 'Loving you,' alongside Ice Prince, and 'Booty Bounce.' She also collaborated with; Cobhams Asuquo, the One Campaign staff, and seven African female artists in creating, 'Strong Girl.' She is very outspoken on male chauvinism and women empowerment, echoing that, women struggle in making ends meet due to the limits on available careers, at the same time, praising and appreciating women working against all odds in all careers.
In 2016, she released a hit single, 'All the Way,' featuring South Africa's Khuli Chana, which paid homage to Beninese's renowned artist, Angélique Kidjo's classic, 'Wombo Lombo.' She released the album 'Safari,' in 2017, collaborating with artists across Africa; Sarkodie, Phyno, Jesse Jagz, and has also worked with other household names; Venessa Mdee, MI, Waje, Selmor Mtukudzi, Yemi Alade, Ferre Gola, Stella Mwangi, FK1, R. City among others. Her music genre is Afropop and Pop. Some of her other released hits are; 'Tucheze,' 'Sexy,' 'Giving You,' 'My Money,' 'Not for Sale,' 'China Love,' ' Lover,' 'Say Less,' among others.
She has bagged several awards; Channel O Music Video Awards, Most Gifted New Comer, Most Gifted RnB Video, under 'Mtoto,' and 'Oya,' respectively, in 2013. Africa Musik Magazine Awards, Africa Musik Awards, Best Female Artist- East Africa, and Best Female Artist respectively, in 2014. African Entertainment Awards USA, Best International Female Artist, in 2015. Kora Awards, Best Female Artist- East Africa in 2016. She has also appeared in the film, 7 Inch Curve.

Victoria Kimani’s Relationships and Dating Life
Upon joining the Chocolate City Music label, Victoria dated the label's executive, Ice Prince for two years then the relationship ended, That did not stop them from working together nor, was it a cause for Victoria to leave the label. She said, she felt like an independent artist, did most things by herself while on the label. When the contract expired, it was time for her to step out, do her own thing, and mostly not have to split the income with anyone. While Victoria kept her love life a secret, it was rumored that she was dating CF Montréal midfielder Victor Wanyama. She canceled the rumors by revealing her then-boyfriend, a Nigerian video producer, and director, Stanley Obiamalu. The relationship ended in 2017, while she was riding high with her hit song, 'China Love.'
She has put it out in interviews, of being single, and tired of dating bad boys. She still desires to get married and have children in the future. Ms. Kimani is willing to wait for as long as it takes until the right man comes along.
