Who is Jover? The 45-year-old started his career as a video analyst at Montpellier in 2009, a role he held until 2016. His work at the French club caught the attention of the Croatian national team, who brought him on board for a month in 2014.

Jover later moved to England, joining Brentford's coaching staff as a 'technical coach' in the Championship. By the time Pep Guardiola recruited him in 2019, Brentford were on their way to promotion to the Premier League.

Despite the leap from a mid-table Championship side to a Premier League contender, Jover impressed, and it was at Manchester City where he crossed paths with Arteta. Although they only worked together for six months before Arteta's move to the Emirates Stadium, Jover left a mark on the Spaniard and joined him in North London in 2021.

I knew Nico from before, and I asked him to come and join our project. He did, and he’s having a really strong impact on the team."
