The news anchor attended Condolata Primary School in Nyeri County, where she excelled academically before enrolling at Bishop Gatimu Ngandu in Karatina. She graduated from Daystar University's Athi River Campus with a degree in Communication and Electronic Media.
During her time at Daystar, she worked as the Station Manager, News and Programme Presenter (in both English and Kiswahili) on radio Shine FM, which was owned and operated by the university. She later interned at KBC between May and June of 2011. She later worked for Nation Media Group on QFM for six months on contract.
