Marioo's Biography in Summary

Marioo was born in Kibiti, Pwani, Tanzania in 1995. He completed his primary school education by following the Tanzanian curriculum. However, due to adverse conditions, he left out a few months after beginning form one. Later, he was taken to his uncle's garage and taught how to repair automobiles.

Career
Marioo worked as a welding technician in Dar es Salaam before to beginning his music career. He met a client at work who assisted him in getting to a studio to record his songs. However, Marioo encountered numerous problems at the start of his profession, the most serious of which was his financial position.

Dar Kugumu, his debut single, was recorded in 2017 and released in January 2018 by Instinct Records. The song became an instant smash, gaining popularity throughout Tanzania.

In addition, the artist was able to write many successful songs for different acts in the same year. Among them are Nandy's 'Wasikudanganye,' Gidy Money's 'Nampa PAPA,' Ditto's 'Nabembea,' Lulu Diva's 'Homa,' and Christian Bella's 'PAMBE.'

Other songs he has released include 'Bia Tamu,' 'Chibonge,' 'Unanikosha,' 'Inatosha,' and 'Ya Uchungu.' Most of his songs are inspired by real-life events. 'Chibonge,' for example, was well received since it glorifies plus-size women.

"I had to look at the opposite side of the coin; in most songs, males praise the so-called figure-eight shapes, but the reality is that we have curvy women that look fantastic and need to be honored," Marioo explains.
