Kinyash's Biography in Summary

I was born and raised in Kiambu County's Mwimuto community. I'm the son of a single mother, the lucky spouse of one woman, and the proud father of a lovely daughter.

You could say that I support all-women conferences (laughs). So Alex takes on the role of Kinyash or Kinyanjui, a well-known comic character who has become a household name.

How did your acting career begin?

After graduating from high school in 2009, I started a rather difficult life without a job.
I was staying with a group of friends and remember it was almost a miracle that we had room to eat.

From 2010 to 2018 he organized the prank show The Pasua Show, which was broadcast on KBC and KTN.

This was not surprising, as he likes art in general. It made shooting so much fun and even escaped the frustrations of life.

This show led to other shows such as KBC's Classmates. These roles earned me a nomination for his 2013 Kalasha Award for Best Television Comedian of the Year. I hope next time I can bring home a trophy.

How do you reconcile family commitments and work demands?

Alex and Kinyajui are completely different people. Alex is a homely man and Kinyajuy is a socialite.

As soon as I leave the house, Alex is taking a break, so Kinyajui will take over if I'm not there anyway.

Basically, I love the support I get from my family and in return I always try to do the best for them.

What keeps you going?

My vision. I have a plan for where I am going, and my daily struggles are just one piece of the puzzle to reach my goals.

And my family supports me. As a man, I have to offer, or rather give, a better lifestyle than I grew up with.

I found myself taking on more responsibility with each milestone I reached. I think it was easier when I was single. I have no choice but to keep walking.

Her YouTube channel, her Kinyash TV, has gained a lot of followers in a very short period of time. What was the secret behind it?

What should I say? It's all God first and then my fans. I really appreciate how open people are to my character, Kinyash, and how much support they provide.

They accepted me. However, a thousand thanks may not be enough to show my gratitude.

How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected your creative career? Covid-19 should go away. I know I can't work from home as an artist. You have to get out there and socialize to make a living.

And most companies have been hit hard, with a very narrow scope of work. And don't get me started on Covid-19 protocols keeping us away from The Event etc. But all in all, God is faithful and will eventually overcome.

What is your content and the inspiration behind the Kinyash character? A frantic Kenyan story, but in a comical way. Most of my stories are ones encountered by normal people (myself included).

Ever since I was little, I loved entertainment. Kinyash, I believe, is a stress reliever from our otherwise extremely stressful economic times.
