Julie Gathoni Sumira Gichuru is a Kenyan entrepreneur and media figure who has investments in the media, fashion retail, and entertainment sectors. She serves as an independent director at Acumen Communication Limited, as well as a fellow and trustee of the Africa Leadership Initiative EA.
Julie Gichuru Background in education
Gichuru began attending St Christophers School in Nairobi when he was eight years old, and later Green Herald in Bangladesh. She returned to Kenya and enrolled at Karen C before moving to Loreto Convent Msongari. She switched from an 8-4-4 system to a GCE boarding school in Form 2 and then to Imani School in Thika for Form 3 and 4. She has an LLB Law and an MBA from Cardiff Law School and Cardiff Business School, both at the University of Wales.
Julie Gichuru Career
Julie Gichuru began her career in radio at Capital FM before transitioning to television as a reporter and news anchor at Kenya Television Network. She appeared in the Kenyan investigative TV series The Inside Story on Kenya Television Network, as well as various current affairs shows on NTV (Kenya), such as the political and current affairs shows Showdown, On the Spot, You The Jury, and The People's Voice, as well as the news program Sunday Live and the peace and reconciliation program Fist to Five on Citizen TV. This list also includes the post-election peace programs Voices of Reason. Gichuru now oversees the production of outstanding African content through ARIMUS Media Limited, including Africa Leadership Dialogues, the High School debating platform Great Debaters Contest, and the entertainment series Maisha.
Julie Gichuru Marriage
Gichuru is married to businessman Anthony Gichuru. They've got four children.
