Juliana and the other three commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) held a press conference on August 15, 2022 at the Serena Hotel to deny the presidential results announced by the chairman, Wafula Chebukati. According to the findings, William Samoei Ruto of the UDA Political Party was proclaimed the winner with 7,152,655 votes, while his opponent, Raila Amolo Odinga, received 6,942,708 votes.
While Juliana spoke to members of the press, her team stated that they are not included in the final step of tallying due to "opaqueness" in the voting process.
