Joe Ageyo, the managing director of Kenya's NTV television channel, is a well-known Kenyan media figure. He is one of Kenya's most well-paid and influential journalists.

Ageyo completed his secondary school education at Sawagongo High School, where he took his KCSE exams. Later, he enrolled at Egerton University for a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management, which he completed, and at the University of Nairobi for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication, which he also completed.
Ageyo later went abroad to finish his education. He graduated from the University of Geneva in Switzerland with a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Environmental Diplomacy. He also earned an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester.
Joe Ageyo Career
Joe began his career as an intern at Kenya Broadcasting, where he worked for free for a year and a half. He began working for KTN in 200 as a managing editor and general news reporter, focusing in environmental stories.
Ageyo is credited with pioneering environmental journalism as the first Kenyan television journalist to introduce an environmental segment, Ecojournal. His efforts have earned him several awards, including "Environmental Journalist of the Year" in 2001.
Ageyo also worked for NTV, which is owned by Nation Media Group, from February 2005 to November 2012, holding several positions such as Head of News Production. He also worked for Royal Media Services.
Joe was a member of the panel that moderated the historic presidential debate held at Nairobi's Brook House School in 2013. He was picked for the same program later following year, which was hosted at the Catholic University of East Africa in Nairobi.
Joe is also expected to conduct this year's presidential debate, which will take place on July 26th, 2022.
