Jackline Chepkoech (born 3 October 2003) is a Kenyan athlete who specializes in the steeplechase over 3000 meters. She won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham at the age of 18, breaking the Games record in the process.
Chepkoech won the World Under-20 Championship in 2021.
Jackline Chepkoech clinched Kenya’s second gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Chepkoech set a new Games Record of 9:15.19 to win the women's 3000-meter steeplechase on Friday night, August 5.
Chepkoech was Kenya's representative in the race after Celliphine Chespol was ruled out due to injury.
The 2021 World Under-20 Champion won her first senior title despite only competing in her second senior event.
The 18-year-old dominated against Uganda's Olympic champion, Peruth Chemutai, who took silver.
Kenya's second gold medal in Birmingham came from Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, in the 100m final.
