Francis Ole Kaparo was the longest-serving Speaker of the National Assembly, serving from 1993 to 2008. He was also a member of the Laikipia East legislature from 1988 to 1992. Kaparo's divorce from his wife of 40 years is suddenly making headlines. Mary accused him of abandonment and cohabitation with another lady in the upscale Eden Villa Estate off Kiambu Road.

She also accused him of having many affairs and questioning the paternity of some of their children.

The couple married in a traditional ceremony in 1981, followed by a Catholic wedding later that year.
