Esther And Ezekiel Muteesasira's Biography in Summary

The family of Esther and Ezekiel is musical. Their mother, Julie Muteesasira, is a gospel singer in Uganda with hits such as "Ekikunyumira," "Lwana Nabo," and "Nterekera." In an interview with Kenya's Citizen TV, Ezekiel stated that he became interested in music by watching his mother and attempting to emulate her. Esther told how her aunt discovered her talent for singing and secretly recorded her singing around the house. The two are involved in charity work with their parents, and after winning, they stated that they would build a home for homeless children in an interview with New Vision. Their mother later divorced and came out as gay.
After living apart for 5 years, the two children relocated to Canada to live with their mother.

East Africa: Who's Got Talent?
Esther and Ezekiel's aunt discovered them as singers in 2017 and submitted their audition tape. At the theater auditions, they sang Alexandra Burke's rendition of "Hallelujah." Because all four judges liked it, they were invited to the live shows. They performed "Rise Up," a 2015 song by Andra Day, live.  They did not advance to the finals because the public voted instead for Rwanda's Intayoberana.

However, the three judges, Gaetano Kagwa, Makeda, and Jeff Koinange, chose them to advance to the finals.
