Osiany made history at the university when he was elected president of the Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) in his second year. In 2015, Hon. Osiany married radio personality Syombua Mwele Osiany at a ceremony attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga. While still working on Radio, he proposed to her. With the help of her bosses, he managed to pull off a surprise proposal. The couple has a child.
The CAS is a Seventh-day Adventist organization. He believes that in politics, one can maintain sanity, focus, uprightness, and a sense of fair judgment. He alluded to the biblical Joseph and Daniel, who despite being governors maintained their Christian principles.
