David Mwaure Waihiga's Biography in Summary

David Mwaure began his legal career almost immediately after graduating from the University of Nairobi. He later established Mwaure and Mwaure Waihiga Advocates, a Nairobi-based law firm with offices in Lamu. This was many years after he first began practicing law.

Political Profession

Mwaure ran for the Kamukunji Parliamentary seat on the Agano party ticket in 2011. This came after the High Court declared MP Simon Mbugua's election invalid due to irregularities in the 2007 elections. Mwaure, however, lost the by-election.

Mwaure had announced his intention to run for president in the 2013 elections. He later changed his mind and decided to run for the Lamu governorship instead. Unfortunately, he did not win the governorship.

In 2021, Waihiga ran for the Nairobi Governor's seat, which had become vacant following the resignation of Governor Mike Mbuvi. He, however, never had the opportunity to be elected because the race was never put to a vote.

Mwaure is currently running for president in 2022 on the Agano party ticket. This is his second announcement of interest, and his running mate is Ruth Mucheru.
Family
David Mwaure is a family man who is married to Anna Ngibuini Mwaure and has three children: Waihiga Mwaura, Ngibuini Mwaura, and Lil Gathoni Mwaura. Lil Gathoni Mwaura, on the other hand, died on April 11th, 2022, at the age of 32.
