Ckay aka Ekwean was born as the son of Dr. Mrs. Ekwiani from Chukwuka, Kaduna State, Nigeria. His first exposure to music was at the age of seven when his father, who was then a church choir conductor, introduced him to the art of music. At the age of 13 he started producing and composing music.
In 2014, Ckay moved to Lagos and began working as a production intern at Chocolate City Music in early 2015, working in the studio there until later that year, when he merged with Chocolate City when he became MI. Then he signed with Loopy Music. Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His production debut was 'Third Mainland Bridge' with MI & Moti Cakes on his TICBN vol. 1 album.
