Brakanah was born in Kenya on January 25, 2002. He has three brothers: Joseph (kanchu), Marvelous, and Curtis. 

Career

Samuel Mwangi, better known by his stage name Brakanah 44, is a Kenyan rapper and social media influencer. He is currently one of East Africa's most streamed SoundCloud artists. Brakanah, a Mombasa native, began using social media in early to mid-2015.

He had over 550 thousand Instagram followers before it was taken down for unknown reasons. 

However, he now has a new Instagram account with over 20,000 followers. His previous Facebook page, which had 12 thousand followers, was hacked, but his current page has over 15 thousand followers. He officially began releasing music under the name Trn Gang with his friends King Paraah and Halle Trn, and they even won their first music award (Xtreem Awards) in 2019. However, beginning in 2021, they began releasing solo projects with either of them on the project solely for backup vocals or adlibs. 
 

And in the year 2022, Brakanah joined SoundCloud and released his first project, which was well received because he primarily targeted his Instagram audience, who streamed the project (peek a boo love). His next release (Kobe Bryant) was going to be a great milestone pusher for his career, as it earned over 26 thousand streams in its first month, and his next project John wick (Kill) became his biggest hit ever released, earning over 20 thousand in its second week of release despite being taken down for 9 days. Soundcloud removed it due to false accusations of copyright from an account posing as Brakanah 44.

During a recent live stream, rapper Brakanah 44 cleared the air by revealing that he had been doing numbers because he was signed to a label. However, during the stream, Brakanah stated that he was independent and revealed that some independent labels had tried to reach him but there was no deal or agreement on anything.
