Marindich grew up in Tigor, Bomet County. He attended the local primary school before moving on to Kaplong Boys High School.

He had to drop out of school in Form Two due to a lack of school expenses. In 2008, his father assisted him in enrolling in driving school in the hopes that he may make a profession out of it.

Arap Marindich's Professional Career
Marindich began his career as a driver for a local merchant in Bomet. He had a car and needed a driver, so Marindich, who had just graduated from driving school, took the job.

"Those days there were no shuttles and numerous PSVs therefore it was a private car. "I took folks from Bomet to other places," he explained.

Later, the he received a job offer from Nairobi and accepted it. He subsequently met Kaptula, who hired him as a taxi driver.
