Rwirangira's professional music career began after he won the East Africa Tusker Project Fame. This prompted him to record and duet with Tanzanian A.Y. on Songa Mbele and Bebe Cool on Come To Me.
Following the release of the song, allegations spread that Rwirangira "is not a legitimate Rwandan" because he is A.Y.'s cousin. Alpha began traveling throughout East Africa after winning Tusker Project Fame.
Rwirangira finished and published his debut album, One Africa, in 2010, in support of African unity and reconciliation. He then made it available in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi.
In 2012, Rwirangira went to the United States to study music at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.
Rwirangira recorded two singles in Rwanda during his Christmas vacation in 2012: "Connected" with King James, "Beautiful" with Peace, and "African Swagga" with Rah P. He wrote the song "Heaven" with La'Myia Good in 2013.
