Mark Masai's Biography in Summary

Mark Masai, born Abdullahi Kasim, is a well-known Kenyan journalist, media personality, and news anchor recognized for his command of the English language and excellent looks. This is due to the fact that he spent a significant portion of his boyhood in the United Kingdom.

Family Background

Mark was born in Narok as a Muslim by Fatuma Abdullahi, a teenage mother who had to abandon him because she was too young and her family banned it. She was adopted by Mary Wright, a British missionary. She was very rigid about speaking English and insisted on using it at home. She maintained contact with her biological mother, who linked him with his father after high school, albeit they did not communicate much. He joined The African Children's Choir, which allowed him to travel the world.

Education

He graduated from Tangaza College in Karen with a degree in Social Communication. He was given a scholarship by the choir he joined.

Career

Masai worked as an intern at Hope FM while still in school. After graduating, he was approached by Radio Africa. Later, he worked for Classic FM and did few advertisements. His incredible presenting abilities got him a job at NTV in 2008, where he was the youngest presenter at the time, at the age of 22.

He covered human rights and environmental issues, and one of his most popular reports was on Dandora dam pollution. He left NTV to work for CCTV Africa, where he had the opportunity to travel, something he thoroughly enjoyed. He returned to NTV and was warmly greeted.

Marriage

After a long relationship, Mark married Fiona Nduta. They married in a small, intimate ceremony in 2015. On November 8th, they had their first daughter, Nashipae.
