Godson Ominibie Epelle, better known as 1da Banton, is a Nigerian dancehall singer, songwriter, and producer born on June 27, 1994. Adasa Cookey's Squareball Entertainment Records currently represents him.
His music is a distinct blend of reggae, dancehall, afrobeat, and traditional rhythms from his hometown of Port Harcourt in the Nigerian state of Rivers.
1da Banton made his music debut in July 2017 with the release of his debut EP, "The Banton," on Squareball Entertainment. He garnered a lot of recognition after his song "Way Up" was picked as the eviction theme song for the 2018 Big Brother Naija season. He next launched "Jowo," which featured a new smooth sound that enchanted his audience.
The breakthrough track "African Woman," which was released in late 2018 and influenced many other singers, gave the Nigerian music industry a fresh African flavor. 1da Banton has released a spate of new groovy compositions, earning him the title "original vibe machine."
Among the musicians with whom he has worked are Harrysong, Timaya, Stonebwoy, Seyi Shay, and worldwide dancehall phenomenon Kranium.
1da Banton's career has progressively advanced, and he is poised to enter the ranks of African music's greats in the not-too-distant future.
