Generation Z or Gen Z are people born between 1997 and 2012 after which Gen Alpha comes in. These generation are known for disregard to normality and traditions. In reality, generations have been changing especially from the millenials that mostly raised Gen z and tried to shield them. Children are no-longer community property but rather an in-house matter. That's the generation came out differently.

Since Raila stepped out of the local politics, its been a hard time for Kenyans as Ruto keeps adding new taxes as he wishes. While nobody was willing to step-in, the Gen Zs took the center stage and did not only do it but blasted it. Took it to another level. They have been a force to reckon with and forced President Ruto to abolish some punitive tax laws such as tax on motor vehible, sanitary towels and more.

Police Block City Roads ahead of the voting of the 2024 Finance Bill amidst Protests from Gen Z, the youth

Police have shut City Hall Way, just as Kenyans are expected to go to the streets of Nairobi's Central Business District to protest Finance Bill 20224.

The route was closed near the Supreme Court roundabout.

The Star obtained images of a large detachment of police officers setting up a roadblock on a piece of road.

The GUS officers were spotted holding rungus, tear gas canisters, and pistols.
Vehicles attempting to utilize the route had to go through some examination before being allowed to proceed.
Police officers were positioned throughout Nairobi, including surrounding Parliament.
The "Occupy Parliament" protests aim to put pressure on MPs to reject Finance Bill 20224, which has been labeled as "punitive" by several Kenyans.

Nairobi Regional Police Commander Adamson Bungei denounced any proposal to arrange protests in Nairobi, claiming it was illegal.

Bungei stated that no one asked for a gathering or picketing authorization, as expected. He said that the protest was illegal and forbidden.

Bungei stated that they received a 'faulty' paperwork dated June last year that does not fulfill the protest permit requirement.

"They left a notification at Central dated June 17, 2023. It's faulty. We cannot tolerate them. "No demonstration."

"Kenyans should be allowed to do their business and those with grievances should direct them where they know well."

He added that officers have been mobilized to guarantee that any gathering is dispersed immediately.

This comes as activists led by Boniface Mwangi have already released a detailed strategy for the 'Occupy Parliament' protest against the Finance Bill 2024.

Police have already warned of anticipated traffic disruptions on some roads near the Parliament Building on Tuesday, June 18.

This will be part of efforts to limit the planned protest outside Parliament in Nairobi over the Finance Bill 2024.

According to police, more anti-riot units have been deployed in preparation for the deployment, which is scheduled to begin at midday.

Police who were aware of the scenario stated that they had been ordered to "diffuse" the protest from the start.

A multi-agency team had been meeting to discuss how they would handle the demonstration.

The Occupy Parliament protest is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, when the Bill is expected to be tabled in the House.

The vote on the Bill is expected on Thursday, June 20.
