The directorate of criminal investigations has been on sting operations in the past few days, and the latest casuality is a central Kenya member of parliament of Mathira, Rigathi Gachagua.
He was arrested today in the morning in Nyeri and the reason for his arrest is yet to be known according to his lawyer.
Rigathi Gachagua has been a man walking on a tight rope following links with money laundering. He's been a guest to the DCI a couple of times this year. It was not a surprise he was arrested. The money laundering business is claimed to be in 10s of billions of Kenyan shillings.
Alternatively, it's argued in some quarterz that his arrest is because of his association with the deputy president William Ruto. Ruto, seen as an opposition to the Jubilee government has seen most of his associates either arrested and prosecuted or fired from the jobs.
