Kahawa Sukari groom dies a day before wedding; Fredrick Gitau biography and personal details and cause of death

Kiambu police are looking into a case in which a Kahawa Sukari Deliverance Church evangelist died in his home one day before his wedding.

The matter has been handed over to the DCI, according to Kiambu police commander Perminus Muchangi, as the body of the late Fred Gitau is scheduled for post-mortem on Monday at the Kiambu County Referral Hospital.

Gitau, who was to marry at the Deliverance Church Kahawa Sukari on Saturday, was discovered dead in his home on Friday. 
Gitau was dropped home by his best couple on Thursday night, according to family members, and even bed them as he went to sleep.

Gitau was discovered dead on Friday morning, with foam oozing from his mouth. 

The door to the house was locked from the inside.

When the cops arrived that Friday, they were forced to use a young boy to gain access to the deceased's house through the window.

The police documented the scene and removed the body after the boy opened the window.

According to a close family relative, Gitau texted her sister earlier on Thursday evening to tell her that his life was in danger, and that if anything happened to him, her sister should notify the police about who was responsible.

According to the relative, the police were fully briefed on the message he sent to his sister. 

According to the relative, Gitau was a 'prayer warrior' at Deliverance Church, never drank alcohol, and was on the verge of becoming a pastor.

Gitau was set to marry Joyce Waithera before the tragic incident.

The wedding was to be held at the Deliverance Church Kahawa, followed by a reception at the Cardinal Odunga grounds in Kahawa Sukari.  

According to family members, Gitau owns a taxi car that he uses for his cab business, and the vehicle was parked outside his house when he was dropped off by his friends.

"Coming from a wealthy family and excelling in his endeavors, we are shocked by what may have occurred on Thursday night," a relative said.
