The entertainment world is in grief after the unexpected death of comedian Fred Omondi.
Fred, the younger brother of comedian and activist Eric Omondi, died in a horrific accident on Bypass Road in Nairobi.
According to family sources, Fred passed away.
According to a police report obtained by Nairobi News, Fred was riding a motorcycle when he crashed head-on with a bus near the Caltex petrol station on Kangundo Road early Saturday morning.
"The cyclist had major injuries on both of his right legs, as well as fractures in both hands. He was brought to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment, and the deceased's body is currently in the hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem, according to the police report.
Fred was slated to perform in Meru this weekend.
Fellow comedians shared the devastating news, expressing their condolences and paying honor to Fred.

"I received the saddest phone call of my life today at 6 a.m. It hurts a lot... Fred, I thank God for the time we had together, bro. You always treated me like a brother, welcomed me when I had nowhere else to go, gave me a platform, and compensated me." Terence wrote.
He spoke on their journey from performing at locations such as Tribeka, Taj Mall, and iClub to appearing on the Churchill Show and hosting their first TV show together, KTN Crazy Comedy.
"Together we struggled, learned, inspired, made people laugh, and formed wonderful memories. All of things I will cherish and hold dear. Freddy, you were a noble soul. I have a lot to say about you, but all I know is that you performed well and will be remembered and missed. "Do well, bro," he added.
