Childhood and Early Life
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was born on August 15, 1944, in Ntungamo, Uganda, to a Banyankole cattle herder family. Calbe Akandwanaho, his brother, and Violet Kajubiri, his sister, raised him.
Museveni went to Kyamate Elementary, Mbarara High, and Ntare Schools. During his high school years, he became a born-again Christian.

Museveni moved to Tanzania in 1967 to begin his studies at the University of Dar es Salaam, where he studied political science and economics, earning a bachelor's degree in 1970.
