Christened Victor Githu, Kenya's youngest pastor, has been praised, criticized, and his name has been slandered on social media. The brave boy has faced the negative comments head on and has continued to preach the Lord's good news. Victor believes that God has called him to a greater purpose and that the opinions of others do not define him.

Rumours circulated on social media platforms that he had received 227 points in the 2021 Kenya Certificate Primary Education (KCSE) examinations. Some Kenyans congratulated him, while others ridiculed him. He later came out to deny the reports, claiming that he was in Grade 6. 

Background  

Victor was born on October 7th, 2009. He began talking at the age of seven months but did not begin walking until he was two years old. 

Victor claims that the preaching bug bit him when he was five years old. He preached to those around him, armed with the tiny blue Gideon's International Bible. His mother was initially unsupportive because all he did was preach. When he was left in charge, he would even close his mother's shop to go preach. People thought he was insane, and his mother fired him for failing to take responsibility. Nothing, however, could persuade him otherwise.

Death is the only thing that can keep him from preaching.

In an interview with Lynn Ngugi, he stated that if he was not allowed to preach, he would prefer death. He told the award-winning YouTuber that he had considered suicide but decided to bid his brother farewell as he was about to tie the rope around his neck. When the brother informed his mother of what was going on, he was canned before being counseled.  
He eventually persuaded his mother to take him to Juja market to preach. People gave him Sh7,000 at the end of the session, which he used to record his debut song. 

Despite the pandemic, the young preacher stated that it was still okay because trials were a part of life. 

Plans for the future 

Victor Githu envisions a large spiritual church with branches in several countries, including Norway and the United States, in the future. In a previous interview, the 12-year-old stated that all he wanted to do was preach.
