Josep Haule, popularly known in the music industry as Professor Jay, has gained international recognition thanks to his unique way of doing things. With both leadership and entertainment skills, Professor Jay is a man who wears many hats. He performs both his roles with the utmost precision. Joseph Haule's biography Ex- Mikumi MP Hon. Joseph Haule was born on 29th December 1975 in Songea, Tanzania, where he also grew up. His dad is Mzee Leonard Stephen Haule, who unfortunately passed away in 2018 following some health complications. There is little information known regarding Joseph Haule's education, siblings and parents, and early life. Professor Jay began his career as a musician in 1989 under a band named Hard Blasters. By then, his stage name was Nigga J, and their hit song was Chemsha Bongo. A year later, the band was awarded the best hip-hop group in Tanzania. Haule, later on, decided to pursue music as a solo artist in 2001 and eventually became the pioneers of Bongo music in Tanzania. Professor Jay also collaborated with other local artists in Tanzania, such as Juma Nature, Diamond Platnumz, and Lady Jaydee. He also recorded songs with Ugandan and Kenyan artists such as Nazizi, Nonini, Chameleone, and Victoria Kimani. By collaborating with other artists, he gained more recognition in the East Africa music community.  

Joseph Haule’s political career Joseph Haule successfully vied for Mikumi’s parliamentary seat under CHADEMA Party and got elected in 2015. In 2020, Mr. Haule lost his parliamentarian seat to Dennis Lazaro of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Dennis garnered 31,411 votes, while Professor Jay got 17,375 votes making the latter the new Mikumi Constituency MP. House In 2017, the Swahili rapper's home was demolished. This was a move made by the Tanzanian courts. Mr Haule was devastated. He even called out to the late president Joseph Magufuli citing that the Ksh. 4.6 million home had been built over years of labour in his music career. Unfortunately, the house located in the leafy suburbs of Mbezi, Dar es salaam, had to be destroyed. The house was, among other houses, built on a road reserve named Morogoro Road that was due for expansion into the highway.
